Almost six months ago my little baby had open heart surgery. I used to worry some, about how his scar would look as he got older. And for a while it was looking kind of puffy and not so great but now as he approaches his six month mark to having a repaired heart, a heart that had to be repaired in order for him to live basically...
I don't think it looks so bad.
It's his battle wound. Such a strong little boy. And we are forever thankful for this repaired heart.
I'm glac to hear this. Alexis's scar is still really red and puffy, especially compared to her almost invisible abdominal scar. Her dr told me it can take up to a year to fade. Bennett looks great!
ReplyDeleteHe gets cute and cuter with each post. His scar seems remarkably small and pale considering all his little body endured 6 months ago. So glad his ticker is ticking well.
ReplyDeleteI love those chunky thighs!
ReplyDeletea reminder of how lucky we truly are to have our precious little boys here. He is such a doll.
ReplyDeleteit is barely visible! I have two friends whose girls are 6 and 9 and they say it is barely noticeable now. I was thinking about Parker, his surgery to come, and his scar the other day as I was giving him his bath. I felt so scared for a moment and kept reflecting on his "perfect" skin. I love what you said, it is a reminder of the strength our little ones have. Far more than I I'm afriad! I almost emailed you and asked if you'd mind sending me a picture so I knew what to expect. I decided that was WAY too personal. :) Thanks for sharing, Bennett is an absolute delight! Hugs! Lara
ReplyDeleteHe is such an adorable little munchkin man
ReplyDeleteAdorable. It is going to take a while to lighten up. It doesn't look bad at all..he is so precious.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness he is just too cute...I just want to give that little boy a hug!!
ReplyDeleteA battle scar no doubt. But like you said, it gave him a healthy heart!
ReplyDeletehe's so beautiful!
Looks great!
ReplyDeleteHe is so adorable and I just love that little look. It doesn't look bad either. Bennett you are awesome !!!
ReplyDeleteCaroline
He looks great!
ReplyDeleteYes, I would agree....the scar is hardly noticeable!! And he just gets cuter and cuter!!!
ReplyDeleteHe looks incredible :)
ReplyDeleteHe is SO cute and his scar looks amazing! It is incredible to me how doctor's have the ability to repair such a vital organ. What a blessing to live in the time that we do!
ReplyDeleteA mom I know told me that her son would tell people it was a scar from a shark bite and other times he would say it was from a sword fight! I wonder what my own little Noah (and your Bennett) will tell his buddies some day! Noah had his surgery almost 2 years ago and it is just a white line now. Bennett's will fade too! Debby
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie! His scar looks great and he's getting so big. Too bad we didn't live closer so Bennett and Logan could be play buddies...we may move back east in the near future though! We so miss it.
