I told him about the other night and how Bennett went from 10:30pm-6:30am (by accident-I had my alarm set to wake up to feed him around 3am but I slept through it!) He said as long as he continues to gain and not lose weight then I don't need to wake him!! He said we should have two words for Bennett- "Thank You!" Meaning thank you for letting mommy and daddy sleep!!! So we will see how that goes. I have a scale, as you know, and while promising not to go crazy with it, I will keep a check on his weight for a few days and see if we can continue to let him sleep that is if he sleeps and doesn't wake up. He wants to see us in 2 weeks, hopefully Bennett will be over 8 lbs and continue to be symptom free!
On another note we had the girls with us and the little portable DVD player is a life saver! The girls were wonderful and happy to just sit and watch Dora, of course, while mommy and daddy talked with the doctor. All in all it was a good visit and I really like the cardiologist- very friendly and so sweet with our boy!
We've had some yucky weather lately (thunderstorms) so we're inside today : ( We've got plenty of toys though to keep the girls busy. Ainsley likes to be just like mommy with her sling and baby- so cute!
Here's are strong boy "playing" with his toys! So nice to see him alert and awake!
We are hoping to get to the pool this week-I'm less than thrilled about getting into a bathing suit right now though! But Ainsley loves the water and I'm interested to see her in the pool since she did really well at swim lessons. I bought some water wings for Harper though- swore I never would- being a swimmer and all-"my kids won't need wings, they'll learn to swim, I never used them" Well, Harper is not like Ainsley (cautious) and quite frankly I'm a little afraid to just let her be in the water without anything, while trying to keep my eye on Ainsley and Bennett- she may need a life jacket too! I'll let you know how that goes!
So glad to hear that Bennett is doing well! How awesome is that about sleeping through the night!! WTG!
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the pool stuff. We went yesterday and it was a little bit stressful trying to nurse Dylan while Cass ran around the baby pool on her own! Ah!
Sounds good!! It took them a little while to hear B's murmur, too. They wanted him at about 12 pounds before surgery, which was at about 5.5 months. But he was put on meds really early, like at a couple of weeks (Lasix).
ReplyDeleteThat is great that your girls are content in the doctor's office. I was lucky enough to be able to leave Andrew with a family member for almost all of the visits that we've had. He was only two at the time, and even now at three, he's quite loud and demanding. LOL
Yay for good news from the cardiologist!! It's always a relief when you go to the doctor expecting the worst and come out with "everything's okay." McKayla likes to take care of her babies like mommy as well! So cute!
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear everything is going well.
ReplyDeleteAutumn too, they did not hear anything at birth and on our first cardiology appointment thats when he heard the murmur and when she hit 10 lbs (at 3 months) they scheduled the surgery. Although she was on on lasix for 2 days following the surgery (not before) she is doing great and never needs heart surgery again. Will pray the same for our new little friend ! :) God Bless!
It's great to hear that Bennett is doing so great. WTG! big guy on the great snooze :) I'm not sure if I've ever introduced myself. I'm Heather and I've been following your beautiful family for awhile now. I just wanted to pop in and mention that here in Canada we have the most cool swim suits for kids that have foam build right into the suit. I'm not sure if you can find them there as well but I bet you can **grin** My sister has one for her girls and they work really good plus they are not as restrictive as wings and a life jacket. Just my two cents worth. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Bennett is doing so well! I will keep praying for him to get bigger and stronger for his surgery.
ReplyDeleteNice to hear the good news. Praying for you everyday. HUGS !!
ReplyDeleteYour family is just beautiful. Bennett makes my heart melt and my uterus ache...he's just adorable. Congrats on getting to sleep through the night...my son didn't do that until he was almost 8 months old. Keep the updates and pictures comin'...you're doin' great.
ReplyDeleteIt's just super that Bennett is doing so well! That's great he slept and let you get some wrest.Your little girl looks sweet in her baby sling :)Bennett looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm happy to hear Bennett's doing well! I love that he's got time to gain some weight before he needs to have his surgery--that's the way it was with Samantha, too, and not having an emergency situation on your hands makes the road to the upcoming surgery just a teensy bit easier.
ReplyDeleteGet your sleep when you can! That's awesome. I was so paranoid that I kept waking Samantha. I'm still kinda like that--if she doesn't feel like eating one day I get all worried and try to force her, which just ticks her off! I'm turning into my grandmother ("Eat! Eat!")! LOL
Darling pic of Ainsley with her baby sling. It so wonderful that Bennett is doing so well. He sure is a cute little package!
