Well, just as I predicted summer has flown by and before we know it the 80 degree nights will be 50 degree nights and then it only gets worse from there! Mike has been wanting a fire pit so this past weekend we purchased one and thought it would be fun for the girls to roast marshmallows and make smores. We also thought it would be fun to enjoy the fire with a glass of wine when the kids go to bed-maybe those 50 degree nights won't be so bad after all:)
Harper's got a good hold on those marshmallows.
Note to self: purchase skewers before attempting to roast marshmallows-yes, that's some kind of grilling fork.
I think she got that one nice and toasty!
The girls usually don't like all the fuss with the chocolate and the graham crackers, actually Harper would rather just eat the entire bag of marshmallows- forget roasting them! But we told them they have to at least try the smores!

Ainsley being all dramatic.
No marshmallows for this little guy-maybe next year!
Hmmm...the evidence is on her face...I think she enjoyed the smores!
~Going to miss these warm summer nights~
Awww, great pictures! You will definitely get a lot of use out of the fire pit. We have one too, and used to roast marshmallows a lot with the kids. Our dog even liked them! We've done hot dogs on the fire pit as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea - it looks like the girls enjoyed their smores!!
ReplyDeleteCan i have some? hehe
ReplyDeleteGreat pics & looks like so much fun. I remember making those as a child. My gang likes to just eat the marshmellows too. {{HUGS}}

I love it! The girls look like they are having a blast! I am also going to miss the summer.... went by way too fast!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet pic!!! Ooooooo....I want 50 degree nights too!
ReplyDeleteI love smores! We used to make them a lot in the summer when I was a kid. We camped out a lot. You don't have any wire hangers you can use? Just make sure they're not the painted kind. Cheap and easy. =)
ReplyDeleteI love Ainsley's headband, very cute. Glad you will be enjoying a glass of wine with your husband. I always feel exhausted after putting the kids to bed, and forget to do those kind of things.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! What kind of sling do you have? I have an Over the Shoulder Baby Holder..but yours looks more comfy!
ReplyDeleteYum!!! Who says you can't do it on the cold nights?? Just throw on a jacket and cuddle up by the fire and yes, skewers are a must!
ReplyDeletePoor Bennett! Babies always get left out of the good food! LOL I LOOOOVE me some s'mores! :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun! Now I want some smores :)
ReplyDeleteHi Adrienne! This is Kireta...my hubby has sent a couple emails. I'm crazy busy these days with the kiddos. Noah(almost 17 months) and Logan turned 3 months on the 3rd!! Thanks for following our blog! I'm so glad to have the surgery behind us and we're enjoying Logan being a baby. Time flies by anymore and can't believe it's Sept. already. You have a beautiful family and I enjoy following your journey. Your Bennett reminds me of our little Logan:) By the way I love the names! I'll keep in touch more. I'm finally getting into my groove of having a toddler and an infant:) Have a great night!
