In December, 2008 we found out through an amniocentesis that our third child would have Down syndrome as well as a heart defect (AV Canal Defect). We also learned that he would need open heart surgery after he was born.
Shocking to say the least.
But our sweet Bennett arrived May 22, 2009, had his OHS on August 6th, 2009 and he is perfect, extra chromosome and all!
I blog about our daily lives, raising kids, and what it's like to have a child with special needs. I hope that by sharing our experiences we can bring more awareness to Down syndrome and show others that having a child with Down syndrome is not the end of the world and that there are so many blessings that come along with it. We are Christians and believe that God is with us every step of the way in this crazy life.
From time to time I also blog about decorating, fashion, diy projects, and pretending I'm organized. Oh and I also like to pretend that I'm somewhat crafty;) Hope you'll stick around!
