Bennett Is Still Moaning:(
Bennett took 2 ounces from the bottle pretty quickly and they changed his meds from morphine to something similar to Valium. Morphine just wasn't doing it for him. That seemed to help but now he is back to moaning so I'm going to feed him again and see if that helps. I won't be able to hold him until probably tomorrow when some of the tubes come out. Please pray that he can get some rest and that they can get his pain under control. Thank you!

I am so sorry to hear that Bennett is still in pain! I am so happy that he is breathing on his own so quickly! He really is looking good! We are all praying here at the Purdy house! I hope he has an amazing night and is even stronger in the morning!
ReplyDeletePraying that Bennett gets some comfort and relief from pain. I'm sure you're anxious to hold that sweet boy!
ReplyDeleteHi Adrienne--If the drug you're talking about is Ativan (it's a close relative to valium), it's a sedative and not a painkiller It will relax him if part of what's going on is anxiety, but he should be getting some kind of painkiller as well. Just something to think about although I'm quite sure the nurses and Dr's know what their doing. I really hope they figure it out soon. I know how it feels when your LO is coming out of surgery and their having pain issues. Otherwise, it sounds like the surgery went well, and I'll be hoping and praying for Bennets's speedy recovery. Much love to you and your dear little Bennett.
ReplyDeleteIt must be so hard to hear him moan. I will pray that he feels better really soon and that he can get some rest tonight.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for you and your husband too - that you will both be able to get some rest tonight.
Thinking of sweet Bennett and praying.
ReplyDeleteI hope that sweet little angel gets some relief from his pain soon. He's going through something that even most adults never experience in their lifetime. It seems he's a real trooper, and a fighter, though.
ReplyDeleteHugs and prayers and hope that you all get some rest and that your little man's recovery goes well. Thanks so much for updating us.
